Year 2 Term 3 Newsletter
This term the school theme is Raiders of the Lost Ark. Think Indiana Jones! As part of our topic we will be finding out about the Ancient Egyptians. This will include writing our own Egyptians adventure story and writing a recount of Howard Carter’s finding of Tutankhamen’s tomb.
In maths we are continuing to build upon our knowledge of number, beginning our work on multiplication. In topic maths we will be linking our work on the Egyptians to studying coordinates, symmetry, right angles of shapes and reading scales.
For science this term we will be looking at sound and reversible and irreversible changes. This will include exciting experiments such as making jelly and melting chocolate.
For PE this term we will be inside on Wednesday (dance) and outside on a Friday (multi-skills), so please ensure your child has the correct kit in school. Our Wednesday dance lessons will be linked to our work on the Ancient Egyptians and we hope to be able to perform to you later in the term. Dates to be confirmed! We will also be visited by a dance specialist for a tap dancing lesson!
